Hellooo! At some point over the past week, we had the radio and my Mum goes 'this sounds like All Saints' and sure enough it turns out that they are making a return! What a blast from the past! Later on I found the track on YouTube and I've been hooked ever since. I don't really know much of their original music but I definitely want to have a listen.
One Strike sounds a lot like their earlier music (from what I know), it's upbeat yet chilled out and has a modern twist on their sound. I love their style, the harmonies are incredible! The song has quite a dance/popish bass with almost tribal vocals in the pre-chorus which work well with the percussion. It's odd hearing the style of kind of the late 90's/early 00's in a modern song but I think it's a great way to introduce this generation to that era. All in all, it's an awesome song!
The video is very simplistic with just All Saints, shot in extreme black and white. It's a far cry from some of the videos out these days and I love that they're doing what they do best and not trying to replicate what else is in the charts at the moment. I love the song and can't wait to dig back into their previous releases! Here's the video so you can check it out for yourself! Sophie
