HMV Haul

Hellooo! On the 11th August, I received an email from HMV which included a discount code for 50% off selected vinyl releases (along with some CD's and DVD's) as part of their 2020 Vinyl Week! I had a look through the records that the discount code could be applied to and found one I’d had my eye on for a while and couldn’t help but add a couple of other items to my basket!

Firstly, I spotted the Bastille Doom Days red and black splatter vinyl which has been on my wishlist for a while now! I have a signed red cassette version of the album (which I reviewed here) and I also saw the album performed live on Bastille’s Doom Days Club Nights UK Tour at Grimsby Auditorium (blog post here) which made me want to buy the vinyl version of the album. It also happens that the Doom Days coloured vinyl is a beautiful vivid red colour, with black splatters on and I LOVE it! I love the colours and branding throughout the vinyl and its packaging and particularly love the Doom Days logo on Side B of the vinyl. This version of the record is an indies and HMV exclusive and was originally £29.99 at HMV, with the 50% discount taking it down to £14.99, which I was very happy about! I always say that I love a limited edition or exclusive and this one is no different! The Doom Days vinyl is packaged in a clear plastic sleeve, with a download code included which is always a bonus!

I also grabbed a copy of the film Yesterday on DVD, which I loved when I saw it at the cinema and thought it was a bargain at £4.99. Finally, I bought a couple of CD’s on a 2 for £6 offer. Bastille’s Wild World was the first CD I went for because I realised that for some reason, I didn’t have it in my collection! I also chose Alessia Cara’s The Pains of Growing, which I also am looking forward to listening to! Wild World was priced at £6.99 and The Pains of Growing was priced at £7.99 however, they were both bought as part of the 2 for £6 offer.

Along with the discounts and offers, orders were available with free delivery when you spent over £20, which was a bonus! I placed my order on the 11th August, it was dispatched on the 13th and arrived on the 15th, which was super quick, particularly in the current circumstances. The order arrived in great condition and I am very happy with my purchases!

I love that HMV decided to hold a Vinyl Week and I also have another HMV limited edition vinyl from their 1921 Series on pre-order due to be delivered later on in the month which I am VERY excited about! All in all, I am very happy with all my purchases and I am looking forward to listening to and watching them all!

Thank you for reading and stay safe!
